Feature: Small Scale Food Processor Association

British Columbia, and Canada for that matter, is full of a variety of great associations, organizations and companies working hard to affect our food systems. Once a month, we want to feature one of those associations, organizations, and companies, as a tribute to the work they are doing.

The Small Scale Food Processor Association (SSFPA) is a national trade association of processors, growers, and suppliers of food and agricultural products. Their mission is to be Canada’s leading support organization for small and medium enterprises in the food processing industry by providing leadership, education, marketing, networking and advocacy to foster success in a competitive global market.

They have two types of members:* Food Processors with no more than 25 full-time employees.* Supporters – groups or individuals including growers, large processors as mentors, linked associations, technical service providers, educational planners, and economic development groups.
And they assist their members to:

  1. Succeed with their businesses
  2. Understand and comply with food safety laws and regulations
  3. Gain expertise, with support from the food business community

As a member, you will have access to:

  1. Education, workshops and online resources
  2. Member Networking opportunities
  3. Listing in Specialty Food Directory
  4. 25% discount on all courses offered through INTRISK Training Solutions Ltd.
